Is this a typical group tour?
We don't offer typical group tours and our clients aren't typical group travellers. People who travel with us want to really get to grips with the country they're visiting, to immerse themselves and to truly understand and appreciate the cultures they experience. It's all about authentic experiences in exotic cultures – a combination that serves up unforgettable memories. Our trips allow you to step off the tourist track and into local culture—from bustling marketplaces to hole in the wall hidden gems. This allows you to have a more authentic travel experience.
Who are these trips designed for and is this travel style for me?
If you're inquisitive and adventurous, want to travel in small groups, spend a week in a gorgeous villa or stay in a lovely quaint hotel and want to immerse yourself with like-minded travellers in interesting, unique cultural experiences while we take the hassles out of travelling – taking care of the transport, accommodation and transfers, then the answer is 'yes'! We also make sure we set aside time for you to explore on your own or simply to relax. Our trips are designed for the discerning traveler of all backgrounds, from the seasoned traveler and independent traveler to the first time traveler. Join one of our tours as a solo traveler, a couple, a small group of friends or family. Join us for the vacation of a lifetime to discover your destination as an insider and make new friends along the way.
Who are my travelling companions?
Our trips appeal to a wide range of travelers in the age bracket 30 to 45 years, typically, our groups are a mix of single travellers, friends travelling together and couples. Our clients come from a variety of professional backgrounds, such as media, advertising, finance etc but most importantly share a common passion for travel.
What are the age restrictions on your tours?
To travel independently you must be at least 18 years of age.
How many people can join a tour?
We keep our group sizes low so you have the freedom to move around and get involved with your surroundings. This intimate size ensures that your group won't crowd your experience. You can expect approximately 8 travellers in your group.
What are the trip leaders like?
Our team of travel consultants who will be with you on your holiday, are wonderful traveling companions and whose knowledge and sense of fun and positive attitude make each day a wonderful experience. The group leader will take the hassle out of your travels and help you have the best trip possible. Your leader will provide information on the places you are travelling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see and recommend eating venues.
During your trip you will have free time to pursue your own interests, relax and take it easy or explore at your leisure. While your group leader will assist you with the available options in a given location, please note that any optional activities you undertake are not part of your itinerary, and Away and Beyond makes no representations about the safety of the activity or the standard of the operators running them. Please use your own good judgment when selecting an activity in your free time.
Can I book extra nights of hotel accommodation before or after my trip?
Yes, in most cases we can help to arrange additional accommodation at our starting or ending hotels / the start of or the end of the trip. Please do let us know in advance regarding this so we can give you the required information.
I'm a vegetarian, is that a problem?
No problem. A good variety of vegetarian food is available in most cities all over and is no longer a point of concern. It is important to realise that in some places your diet might be slightly limited, as meat often forms an integral part of the local diet but vegetarian options are always there.
What should I pack?
The following checklist is to be used as a guide only and is not intended to be a complete packing list. Any other items that you wish to pack are at your own discretion however you should attempt to comply with the suggested luggage weight limit.
- Passport and any visas required for this trip
- Travel insurance including insurer details, 24hr emergency contact telephone number and policy number
- Flight Tickets
- Photocopies of important documents to be kept separately (we recommend you scan and email these to a personal email address so you can access them while travelling)
- Money (cash/debit/credit cards)
- Personal medication/prescriptions
- High protection sunscreen

Is the trip departure guaranteed?
Away and Beyond reserves the right to cancel any trip at any time if for any reason there are too few participants or if the quality of the trip or the safety of the travellers is judged to be compromised. In such circumstances, refund of all payments received by Away and Beyond shall constitute full settlement. |
